Competence for clean medical technology

CleanMed: Network for clean medical products talks about...

Hygiene is crucial in medical technology. Unclean implants or surgical instruments that are difficult to clean are not just a problem for users and patients – in the long run, manufacturers lose their good reputation and new orders. The "CleanMed – Kompetenznetzwerk für technische Sauberkeit, Reinigbarkeit und Sterilisierbarkeit in der Medizintechnik" (English: CleanMed- Competence Network for Technical Cleanliness, Cleanability, and Sterilizability in Medical Technology) network wants to tackle these issues.

With its sights set on this goal, the VDI Technology Center (German: VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH) runs the national medical technology information platform titled on behalf of the German government. The project was launched following the National Strategy Process "Innovations in Medical Technology".
