Bartels Miktrotechnik GmbH

Improved Serial Produced Micropump

They enable the development of smallest mobile insulin delivery devices or are opening and closing intestines in artificial sphincter implants. Tiny micropumps become more and more important for medical technology applications. The rapid development in this field demonstrates the Bartels Mikrotechnik GmbH. The MEMS company presents at the ComPaMed its improved generation of injection moulded plastic pumps that next to liquid pumping also has been optimized for gas transport. The new pump generation is just as small as a cent-coin and copes with particle sizes up to 50 µm in fluids. Now it pumps not only liquids with flow ranges of 50 nl/min to 5 ml/min but also gases with rates from 50 µl/min to 15 ml/min. The pump weighs only 0,8 g and is in high volume production low in price so that it is ideally used as disposable unit
