IMS B.V. from Almelo is internationally involved in the development, design and delivery of custom made manufacturing solutions for micro technology. At the COMPAMED, IMS exhibits its ProMicro platform. ProMicro is the semi-automatic work cell for micro systems. The platform is used in several medical projects, for instance in assembling components for hearing aids and micro pumps.
IMS is a member of the WWINN group, which facilitates a seamless path from process concepts to realization and installation of manufacturing equipment. INNLab is one of the other members of this group, started up in 2008 and involved in various projects for the medical market.
INNLab closes the gap between product design and industrialization by offering its services in the field of manufacturing technology and assembly. Through product modifications, prototyping, process development and equipment validation, INNLab provides the basis for industrialization.
One of the recent projects is our process development contribution towards a semi-automated assembly of an eye implant.
This project is done for Retina Implant AG, a German company which is developing the first fully functioning electronic retinal prosthesis. This prosthesis will give back to blind persons a part of their lost sight. INNLab is developing a process for accurate dispensing of silicone around the retina chip, to enhance the product life cycle.
