SANA BIKE 320F

Comfortable load unit
The speed-independent load is granted by a high-end eddy current brake with computer-controlled torque measurement. This control, together with the ideal centrifugal mass dimensioning, results in a very pleasant pedalling feeling, allowing the patient to fully exploit his or her reserves. The mechanism, consisting of state-of-the art components, runs almost noiseless, even at high speed.
 
Stable construction, individual configuration
The infinitely variable seat offers an optimal sitting position for patients between 120 and 210 cm height. The handlebar can be adjusted. The easy passage between handlebar and seat is especially helpful for elderly and handicapped patients. The comfortable seat corresponds to the latest developments of touring saddles in the bicycle industry. It might be useful to install differently shaped saddles for different purposes (e.g. pulmonary function examinations with athletes, rehabilitation etc.) For this reason, the saddle pipe is equipped with a standardised saddle fixation to enable easy mounting of all commercially available saddle models. The stable steel-aluminium construction of the ergometer frame and the drive mechanism easily supports a weight of up to 160 kg.
 
User-friendly control centre
The computer-controlled electronic high-end control centre is situated in the measuring head of the sana bike 320F. The measuring head’s front-side features the control elements and a backlit graphic high-resolution LCD display. Its side, containing the display, is usually oriented towards the person operating the device. This is why an LED speed display is mounted on the head’s upper side, clearly visibile for the patient. If the device is used in the rehabilitation or training sector, the measuring head can easily be turned around to allow view on the display and control unit.
 
Comprehensive ergometry for cardiopulmonary diagnostics
The modern, processor-based electronic control oft the sana bike 320F is designed to allow all common operational modes of the stress test load control. Frequent or regular ergometry measurements can be automated by means of easy programming functions. The user is guided through all operational steps on the display. The ergometer can also be accessed and controlled from an external PC program or ECG unit via the RS232. In this case, the ergometer does not have to be operated separately, as it is fully controlled by the master device’s program. In every mode, the LCD display shows the current load and, if set, the heart rate in an alphanumeric field as well as a graph to view the ergometry status.

SANA COUCH

Scope of application
The sana couch 250 L couch/semi-couch safety ergometer has been developed for use in the cardiology sector. Special safety aspects, e.g. in cases of suspcted cardiovascular disorders, stress test after a cardiac infarction or after bypass operations, and special exercise ergometry applications, such a heart catheter examinations, require the use of a couch/semi-couch safety ergometer. Its use is also recommended for the examination of elderly and disabled patients.

Infinite movability and adjustability via remote control
Thanks to the couch's infinite movability (0-45°), it is possible to find the ideal lying position for every patient and examination method. In case of incident, the patient can be moved immediately into a suitable treatment position. The patient's calm position enables high quality ECG presentation and blood pressure measurements. The height is fixed by means of an adjustable saddle, which also prevents the patient from sliding to the side. The patient's comfort is increased by a headrest. Both elements as well as the couch's slope can be adjusted via remote control. The reclining position at 45° is very comfortable. Medical exercise examinations have proven that the performance in this position corresponds to the performance on a bicycle ergometer. Unlike with previous couch ergometers, the pedalling movement of the legs is now identical to the movement on a bicycle ergometer. This is due to the unique design of the pedal crank shaft. This feature eliminates all performance-related obstacles in couch-ergometry.

The sana couch 250 L is equipped with a precise, interference-free blood pressure unit. This unit measures the systolic and diastolic blood pressures and the heart rate in user-defined time intervals during exercise. Its measuring algorithm is based on the latest trends of blood pressure measurement technology. Alarm limits can be set for the load, heart rate and blood pressure. If these limits are exceeded, an alarm is issued. For heart-catheter examinations, any required load can be set manually.

Stable construction, individually configurable
The comfortable seat with high back rest is adjusted motor-driven so that the appropriate distance to the pedals can easily be set at the touch of a button. The back rest is adjustable in inclination so as to accommodate adipose patients and to allow comfortable pedalling. Handles at the front part of the ergometer facilitate mounting. The handles positioned parallel to the seat relieve the patient's arms during training. The construction is designed for patients weighing up to 250 kg.
 
User-friendly control panel, optionally with blood pressure measurement
Computer-controlled high-performance electronics are used for the control panel, which is integrated in the sana comfort control console. The high-resolution, backlit, graphic LCD display and the control elements are located at the front of the console. The control console can either be positioned with the display facing the patient or the user. A clearly visible LED indicator informing the patient of the speed is situated at the top of the console. Sana comfort 250 S devices are equipped with an integrated blood pressure measurement unit, providing accurate measurement results despite the patient's movements during training. This is especially important when a patient's circulation parameters need to be monitored during ergometry.
 
Wide range of application in ergometry for cardiopulmonary diagnosis
The modern, processor-controlled electronics are designed for all common ways of load control. Ergometry measurements can easily be programmed for automated use. All operating steps are displayed in the menu navigation. However, an external PC program or an ergo-spirometry device can be used to control the ergometer and access the measurement data via RS-232 or USB interface. In this case, the ergometer is operated automatically from the master device program. The current exercise and measurement data is displayed alphanumerically as well as graphically on the LCD screen in all operational modes.

SANA SEDEO

Scope of application
The sedeo 150 is especially designed for the training of disabled persons. It closes a gap in our range of high-end bicycle and couch ergometers. This special device is based on the proven functionality of our ergometers. A pneumatic spring enables the load unit's easy adjustment to the individual height of every patient. A stable base guarantees maximum stability.
The ergonomic handcranks enable a good power transmission during the rotation. The especially designed seat is guided on a rail. On this rail, it can be moved very easily to the best exercising position and fixed. The seat's height and the slope of its back can be adjusted infinitely to enable the patient's optimum position for a good power transmission.

Details

The ergometer can be adapted in a few seconds to wheelchair users. The seat is equipped with a handle, by which it can be lifted out of the guide. It then can be turned by up to 90 degrees to the left or right. Now the wheelchair user can move into the correct position and hold the brakes. The load unit's height is adjusted using the pneumatic spring. This construction saves much time and energy on the device's adaptation.
 
The measuring head faces the patient and its big display continuously shows all important training data and a graph indicating the current performance and heart rate. The load unit runs independently of revolutions per minute, in a range of 20 to 800 watts and an accuracy of 3%. The novel, nearly noiseless belt drive gives the patient a smooth spinning sensation. The ergometer is designed for ergometry recordings. For this purpose, five user-defined ergometry programs are available. A special cardiovascular training program for disabled patients is an option. This is especially significant as only limited means for efficient cardiovascular training are available to disabled persons.

A "pulse-steady-state" program opens up the possibility of accurate performance control. Theheart rate is determined using an integrated receiver and a "Polar belt". (See training using the pulse-steady-state program.) For special applications, the ergometer can be delivered with blood pressure measuring equipment (sana sedeo 250F). With this equipment, the blood pressure is measured on the leg artery above the ankle.
 
Special training using the "pulse-steady-state" program
Accurate load application is a prerequisite for an effective training, especially for high-risk patients. It is mainly based on the patient's general condition and training status. Using the "pulse-steady-state" program, the sana sedeo handcrank ergometer perfectly meets all these requirements for a successful training. Starting from an initial load level, the load is increased automatically until the preset training pulse rate is reached. A computer integrated in the measuring head then controls the load to keep the pulse rate constant over the required period of time. The patient wears a pulse monitor (Polar belt), which transmits the pulse rate to the receiver by wireless.
