Appreciation was so great that the prestigious Rizzoli Orthopaedics Centre pressed for the development of a starched gauze suitable for plaster casts. Zabban reconfirmed its capacity for innovation and was the first Italian company to produce these bandages.
It began enjoying constant growth.
The company, which has since become Farmac-Zabban S.p.A., today makes products for medication and surgical and medical devices, which it sells to hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies and medical supply stores. It boasts about 10,000 customers and its staff and sales force combined number about 180 people. It welds know-how with a policy of investments in equipment, technology, human resources and information services.
Production takes place in a 41,000 m2 factory located in Calderara di Reno, equipped with state-of-the-art technological systems delivering the highest standards of efficiency and safety. As regards products for medication, the entire manufacturing process is carried out and controlled internally to ensure conformity with the standards of quality that enable Farmac-Zabban to retain its position of leadership within the domestic market.
Farmac Zabban was the first Italian company in the medication sector to obtain certification of its Quality Control System, issued by the Italian Higher Institute of Health in March 1997. It has published research and studies in specialised international journals and been awarded ISO 9002 certification.
At present the company is already certified to ISO 9001: 2000 and E 13485 : 2003.
The entire medication product manufacturing cycle is controlled internally.
