EIZO Control Room Solution

With the control room solution from EIZO, you have a view of all images sources and can operate all systems from one workstation.

The LMM0802 from EIZO makes it possible to collect all image signals from different sources and display them on one large monitor, like the LX300W. All imaging systems can be operated and controlled using just a mouse and a keyboard.

This means that the surgical assistants no longer have to switch monitors when they work with different data and systems. This accelerates and simplifies the workflows and reduces potential operating errors. As an alternative, two workstations can also be set up, so that one person could be responsible for modalities and the other for PACS, for example.

EIZO Expands Connectivity in the Operating Room with New Functionality for Video Management Systems and OR Monitors

Karlsruhe, Germany, October 28, 2016 – EIZO GmbH announced the expansion of their CuratOR operating room (OR) solutions portfolio. With the release of the EX271W OR monitor and its two new video input modules, the TID0102 splitter, and the CID1201P application for the Large Monitor Manager (LMM) video management system, EIZO offers even more flexibility in connecting and operating system components.

Designed to complement EIZO’s Transmission Data Link (TDL) portfolio, the new High-Definition Link (HDL) transmission technology makes use of standard CAT6 cables to transmit uncompressed video up to distances of 70 meters. This reduces the cost of system planning and installation, particularly when deployed in conjunction with EIZO’s new EX271W, a 27-inch monitor for the OR with an innovative modular design.

From its inception, the EX271W was designed as a modular monitor to support targeted connectivity in the OR. With its slim design, low weight and high IP rating, the EX271W is an ideal video front-end for the LMM or other OR equipment offering state-of-the-art medical imaging at 1080p. To further expand the EX271W connectivity options, EIZO is introducing the TRM0000-HDL and TRM0000-3GS OR monitor modules. The TRM0000-HDL module allows the monitor to interface directly with the TID0102-HDL or other HDL-compatible transmitters. In this way, video information can be sent from a centralized equipment room into the OR. Similarly, the TRM0000-3GS module lets the EX271W monitor receive 3G-SDI video signals in surgical environments and to forward the signals to daisy-chained equipment via the loop-through output.

With its introduction in 2008, EIZO’s LMM revolutionized video management in interventional radiology rooms. This has since expanded to offer fast, flexible and convenient control of video sources in control rooms, OR and other applications with multiple video inputs. The new TID0102 splitter expands the connectivity options for the LMM and other point-to-multipoint video systems.

With the established DVI video interface of the TID0102-DVI, system designers can use a wider range of video components along with EIZO’s growing portfolio of professional, high-resolution medical monitors. In addition to supporting control room solutions, the TID0102-HDL model splits each video output into two distinct pathways, allowing replication of the signals on two separate monitors with no additional latency or degradation of the video signal. The secondary output is ideal for use with a TRM0000-HDL module or other HDL-compatible receiver. When used in a stand-alone configuration, the TID0102-HDL can display the DVI input signal from a video management system on up to four monitors.

As the successor to EIZO’s CID1000P, the new CID1201P application offers a user-friendly interface for the LMM. With the higher resolution and improved touch responsiveness of modern panel PCs, the CID1201P application enables quick and intuitive selection of video sources through the LMM’s view management interface. The software was designed to be robust and secure in the OR environment, and setup is as simple as specifying the LMM video management system address.

Visitors to Medica 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany will be able to see all of the new products at the EIZO booth, Hall 10, #H41 from November 14-17.

Availability
The new products will be released in series at the end of 2016. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.

EIZO GmbH - Karlsruhe, Germany, November 1, 2016 – Two major players in the monitor sector have joined forces. The medical monitors business of Panasonic Healthcare Co., Ltd. (“Panasonic Healthcare“) became part of the EIZO Corporation in August 2016. The business transfer allows EIZO to combine the expertise of the two leading monitor solution manufacturers, especially for applications in medical imaging. In the future, the acquisition will allow Karlsruhe-based EIZO GmbH to offer the entire product range of medical monitors for minimally invasive surgery, including 2D, 3D and 4K models.

EIZO had already announced the planned expansion of its business in the healthcare market with a particular focus on the field of operating rooms in a mid-term business plan in 2015. “Uncompromising quality and innovative products are EIZO's strengths,” said Peter Ziegler, Managing Director of EIZO GmbH in Karlsruhe.

“Acquiring monitor solutions from Panasonic Healthcare lets us extend this offer into endoscopic image display.”

Panasonic Healthcare has been expanding its endoscopy monitor business since August 2010. Over the years, the company has built strong global partnerships with manufacturers in both endoscopy and OR integration. Panasonic Healthcare products are used in operating rooms around the world where they continue to impress medical specialists with outstanding color settings and accurate color reproduction. Michael Unger, formerly General Manager at Panasonic Biomedical Sales Europe B.V., sees the merger as positive step for the future. “The many years of experience which EIZO and Panasonic Healthcare have accumulated in the area of imaging technology will provide surgeons with an entirely new level of quality and support in the operating room. EIZO Introduces 49-Inch Wall Mount Monitor for the Operating Room

Karlsruhe, Germany, November 2, 2016 – EIZO GmbH today announced a new 49-inch wall mount monitor for operating rooms (OR). The CuratOR LX490W is a Full HD (1920 x 1080), widescreen monitor ideally suited for viewing medical images such as X-ray, CR, MRI, or endoscopy in the OR.

The LX490W is the successor model to the LX470W. Compared to its predecessor, the LX490W’s screen size has been increased from 47 to 49 inches to improve the overview of images across the larger viewing area.

The monitor’s side bezels have been reduced by 56% to a mere 13.3 mm. Although the screen size has increased by two inches, EIZO has maintained the same basic physical dimensions to ensure consistency with the installation footprint of the previous model. With its optimized construction, the monitor is also 22% lighter than its predecessor, making handling and installation in the OR more convenient. The fanless, waterproof design and easy-to-clean protective front screen makes the monitor well suited to the frequent cleaning requirements of OR environments.

The LX490W has a high brightness LED backlight that can be set to luminance levels up to 700 cd/m². The backlight is maintained at its calibrated luminance using the integrated stability system to ensure the image remains consistent with medical imaging standards over time. With a contrast ratio of 1300:1 and 178° wide viewing angles, healthcare professionals can rely on the screen’s clarity from any perspective.

The LX490W retains all of the great features of the LX470W, such as the wide range of input and output signals for interfacing with the most common imaging systems. With its five factory-calibrated gamma modes, the LX490W can be quickly tailored to meet different requirements for brightness and the display of different image types such as DICOM-based X-rays or endoscopic sources with a gamma of 2.2. In addition to the predefined 12-bit look-up tables (LUT), the LX490W offers a user-definable LUT for easy, onsite adaptation to specialized viewing needs. The monitor can also be configured to view multiple source images simultaneously using picture-in-picture (PiP), picture-and-picture (PaP) or picture-over-picture (PoP) functionality.

Visitors to Medica 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany will be able to see the new monitor at the EIZO booth, Hall 10, #H41 from November 14-17.

Availability
The LX490W will be shipping at the end of 2016. Date of availability varies by country so contact the EIZO group company or distributor in your country for details.
