Canada at MEDICA 2016 - Post Show Report

Canada at MEDICA, Düsseldorf (November 14 - 17, 2016)
Toronto, December 19, 2016
Post Show Report of largest Canadian Participation Ever

MEDICA, once again, concluded as one of the most successful shows for the medical technology industry. All trade fair halls were fully booked and a total of 5,886 exhibitors showcased their wide-ranging products to 127,800 visitors. 60 percent of visitors were visiting from outside of Germany to get information on the newest trends and innovations in the industry. About 80 percent of all visitors had decision-making authority, which indicates that MEDICA is the world forum for highly-qualified audience.

As the international trade show for medical technology business, Canadian companies could not miss out on the opportunity to be part of the show. The Canadian participation was booming: A record of 61 Canadian companies exhibited at MEDICA 2016 with over 10,366 square feet. This shows an increase of 10.4 percent over 2015. Represented were companies from most parts of Canada, ranging from British Columbia to Nova Scotia.

A successful Canadian reception, organized by the Federal Government and supported by the Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec provincial governments, brought together over 300 participants, who mingled and talked business over a glass of Canadian wine on the second day of MEDICA 2016. The evening event served as a great platform to create new business relationships, strengthen existing ones and learn about Canadian as well as German companies and new products.

MEDICA 2017 (November 13 - 16, 2017) – Registration open

Only one month after the last event concluded, a third of Canadian exhibitors already decided to return to MEDICA 2017, taking a net space of 36.7 percent of the previous year’s area. The Canadian office of Messe Düsseldorf is offering turnkey packages to small and medium enterprises, who would like to experience MEDICA for the first time or who would just like to participate with the feel of a much larger exhibitor, without the organizational hassle.

The exhibitor registration deadline is March 1, 2017.
