TRANSFORMATION OF BIOMATERIALS

STATICE can transform 3 different groups of polymers:

Beyond the range of polymers, Statice also uses a wide range of other materials commonly used in the manufacture of medical utensils:

Metallic structure with stainless steel, titanium, nitinol, platinum group metals, cobalt chrome
Hard materials, ceramics, corundum.
Short and long-term implantable silicone

 
STATICE uses silicone in different forms:

HCR High Consistency Rubber, LSR Liquid Silicone Rubber

Ink
 
Silicone is transformed and shaped in a variety of ways using different procedures, namely:

Calendering
Compression moulding
Injection moulding
Overmoulding
Extrusion
Tempering

Other processes can be incorporated to change the visual aspect, colour, mechanical or physical characteristics:

Colorants, TiO2, carbon, master-batch colouring
Ink surface marking
Inserts for strengthening (surface or interior) such as textiles (DACRON) or polypropylene
Overmoulding of the components (springs, nitinol wire, electric conductors)

ASSEMBLY OF POLYMERS

tarting with raw materials, STATICE is able to ensure the assembly of parts or components and manufacture complex implants. The assembly of components can be done manually, by semi-automatic machinery, or binocular systems in an ISO 5 controlled environment, and/or machinery designed for repeated assemblies; the technology used is regrouped into 3 main groups:

Gluing: cold or hot silicon glue, UV acrylic cyanoacrylate, epoxy resin

Welding: ultrasound welding, high frequency, electrical, thermal-welding, laser, brazing

Mechanical assembly: riveting, clipsing, setting, forced bushing

ASSEMBLY OF CATHETERS AND ENDOSCOPES

With considerable experience in manufacturing catheters for electro-physiological treatment or ophthalmology, STATICE has developed quality know-how in assembling catheters.

STATICE develops, designs, and produces catheters in the following fields:

Electro-physiology
Ablation
Clinical data monitoring (neurology and others)
Endoscopy
Ophthalmology.
 
For specific applications, STATICE can produce and manufacture catheters with a diameter as low as 3F. A range of captors or sensors are available that respond to electrodes, pressure, temperature, force, and/or active components such as cameras, electrodes, or dart ablation can be incorporated.
The production of this type of catheters calls for complex and specific micro-technology processes which is where STATICE is a leader in the market:

Catheter welding between armed or simple tubing with different diameters
Tip forming
Coating
Micro-encapsulation of captors or sensors
Incorporation of electrodes or signal wiring
