The microwave radiothermometer is designed for early diagnosis and monitoring of treatment of breast disease. The method is based on measuring of self-electromagnetic radiation of human tissues in the microwave frequency band and infrared band. It allows non-invasively detect the temperature abnormalities in human tissue at a depth of several centimeters. Clinical trials of microwave radiothermometer of RTM-01-RES carried out in 7 leading oncological centers of Russia and USA on 1500 patients have demonstrated that sensitivity of the method is 85%-95% and specificity 70%-85%. Microwave radio-thermometry has been recognized efficient to identify patients with a high risk of malignant transformation and to monitor the efficacy of thetreatment.
The ability to determine the temperature of internal tissue non-invasively allows Microwave radiometry to provide more effective diagnostics for cancer (breast, melanoma, prostate, etc.), inflammatory diseases and treatment monitoring.
RTM Diagnostics plans to create multi-channel RTM systems for 3-dimensional visualization of the temperature of the mammary glands and brain, as well as individual application portable devices - Smart Bra and combined ultrasound sensor and RTM.
