MRI-compatible robotic system for breast biopsy
A MRI-compatible robotic system for breast biopsy has been developed. The Stormram 3 prototype, powered by novel pneumatic linear stepper motors, is completely made out of plastics (excluding the MRI-compatible needle) and therefore fully MRI-compatible. It can be teleoperated manually, or by software to a given target.
Also, a ultrasound-guided needle manipulator, part of the MURAB project, is demonstrated.
