SINGAPORE, May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Materials Technologies (AMT) won the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) Design Excellence Awards' Grand Prize in the Automotive-Engine segment for delivering design and manufacturing innovation for a component used in a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.

The MPIF Design Excellence Awards recognizes and honors the achievements of companies that have demonstrated design innovation, superior engineering properties with unique and differentiated commercial application.

AMT collaborated closely with a leading global German provider of SCR and diesel particulate filter systems to design and manufacture this award-winning nozzle. The nozzle is used in the SCR system, one of the most cost-effective and fuel-efficient technologies to reduce diesel engine emission in commercial vehicles. Given the tightening Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesel emission standards, demand for innovative and cost-efficient solutions for exhaust after-treatment is likely to increase in the coming years.
