Donaldson Membranes

Donaldson Membranes’ operation for ComPaMed, part of Medica – the world’s largest medical specialist trade show, is scheduled to take place in Dusseldorf from 14 to 16 November 2007.

The trade fair will give Donaldson Membranes the opportunity to showcase their new Bicomponent substrate amongst many other Tetratex products specifically designed for many medical applications. Martin Koch, Technical Sales Engineer, says of the new introduction "The release of our range of Tetratex ePTFE films combined with a Bicomponent substrate gives the customer a new possibility to choose a membrane optimally adapted for their venting or filtration application as well as for the compatibility with the device the membrane has to be integrated in."

Throughout the exhibition, a team of experts will highlight how Tetratex ePTFE membranes are specially engineered to meet the toughest worldwide specifications for complete protection in demanding medical applications, in Hall 8b Stand G09.

Tetratex ePTFE membrane is an extraordinarily hydrophobic breathable membrane, ideal for applications including: Wound Care; Ostomy Bags; Urine bags; Drainage Bags; Respiratory Applications; Medical Device Enclosures; Vent Caps; IV Spike Vents and Packaging Vents.

Bacterial-challenge and toxicity tested to USP 23, Class VI, Tetratex membrane is available in a range of pore sizes from 0.05 to 7 microns and can be laminated to a variety of substrates. Tetratex is suitable for a range of health care applications with film thickness from 5 to 250 micron and is thermally and chemically stable, resulting in superior performance and comfort in almost any environment.

For the Health Care market, Tetratex Membrane is a reliable and cost effective solution for many applications, such as:

Ostomy Applications -Tetratex ePTFE membrane provides the patient with total peace of mind and unrivalled performance. The hydrophobic characteristics of Tetratex ePTFE provide an excellent barrier to leakage, whilst allowing ventilation and breathability, as well as managing the build up of gases and odour to ensure the patient’s comfort.

Dialysis Applications – Tetratex ePTFE membrane provides an excellent barrier against contamination and encourages a fast response of hemodialysis equipment to venous pressure signals.

Wound Care - the soft, drapeable, ease of removal properties provided by Tetratex ePTFE membrane makes it suitable for a range of Wound Care applications. Tetratex ePTFE membrane is highly breathable while offering a substantial barrier to infection.

Donaldson Membranes invites ComPaMED visitors to call at the stand in order to discuss their specific application needs for optimum solutions.
