Long term implant application

Lyon, November 1, 2014.

Bluestar Silicones has confirmed it will support select long-term implant applications as part of its strategy to expand its presence in the global healthcare market. The announcement was made at the COMPAMED 2014 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany.

In February 2014, at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West show in Anaheim (USA), Bluestar Silicones announced it will support select long term implant applications in the US market. At Compamed 2014, Bluestar Silicones has confirmed that this support will be extended to European market.

Bluestar Silicones will offer implant grade liquid silicone rubber (LSR), high consistency rubber (HCR) and room temperature vulcanized (RTV) rubber. With prior experience in long-term implantable applications, Bluestar Silicones offers the broad know-how and unique formulations and master files to support the market’s specific needs.

“Focused long-term growth in the implant market is a natural evolution for Bluestar Silicones,” says Pascal Chalvon-Demersay, President and CEO of Bluestar Silicones. “We have a strong global base in healthcare and now, with our new cutting-edge facility in York (USA), we are well positioned to build upon the momentum we’ve generated.”

“Our goal is to be the most responsive partner in the marketplace,” add Mr Chalvon-Demersay. We are investing in people, products and our workshops, building a functional expertise that customers appreciate and trust.”

COMPAMED 2014, the leading international trade fair for suppliers of the medical technology industry, will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 12 to 14, 2014.
