It is not possible to imagine the medical daily routine without sensors and pumps. They are valuable assistants in job routines in hospitals, for example in the case of intravenous infusion pumps, but also in the daily routine of patients, for example infusion pumps for diabetics. What’s more, they play a very important role in patient safety – like sensors that measure temperature, nerve activity and pulse or pumps that support the heart. Read more about that in the current Special August.
Medical technology is lost without them: pumps and sensors. They ensure the smooth operation of large devices such as dialysis machines or CT scanners. That said, even the smallest miniature versions used in implants or blood glucose meters, for instance, can pack a punch.
