Questions and answers about your application as an exhibitor
1. 1. Will MEDICA and COMPAMED 2021 be held?
MEDICA and COMPAMED will be held as a hybrid event from 15 – 18 November 2021.
1.1. 1.1. What happens if we apply/ have applied and decide now or later that we do not wish to participate in MEDICA and COMPAMED 2021 due to the effects of Covid-19?
As in previous years, you will also be able to withdraw from participation after having applied up until such point as you receive admission. In this case a withdrawal fee of € 860.00 shall be due (Conditions of Participation B5.).
After our admission has been granted withdrawal or a reduction of stand size will no longer be possible (Conditions of Participation B5.). If you wish to cancel your participation or reduce your stand size after admission has been granted, you must inform us as soon as you have taken this decision. We will then try to find another company for your stand area. If we find another exhibitor for your stand area (not by exchange and/or re-location of stand) we will charge you 25% of the participation fee but at least the withdrawal fee of € 860.00. Should we fail to find exhibitors for your stand area you shall be obliged to pay the full participation fees.
1.2. 1.2. What happens if MEDICA and COMPAMED are held as hybrid events and we cancel our participation because our entry into Germany and/or return to our home country are made impossible by travel restrictions (ban on entering and/or leaving the country) or complicated by quarantine provisions?
If your cancellation is based on travel restrictions of this kind issued by an authority in the country of origin or in Germany, exhibitors will be refunded the participation fees with the exception of the flat-rate media fee (€ 485). Exhibitors can also opt to leave their participation fees with MD as a credit for the follow-up event.
1.3. 1.3. What happens if we apply/have applied and the events are called off due to administrative bans?
If the hybrid MEDICA and COMPAMED events cannot be held due to an administrative ban (Conditions of Participation B18.) there are two options
Without a digital/virtual alternative offered by Messe Düsseldorf: Contracts will be cancelled and participation fees refunded. The exhibitor shall bear the costs of the withdrawal fee amounting to € 860 (“appropriate risk sharing”).
With a changeover to a completely digital/virtual format: The participation fees will be refunded. Exhibitors shall pay the amount of the flat-rate media fee of € 485 + value replacement of € 860 (withdrawal fee).
2. 2. What happens if we apply/have applied and Messe Düsseldorf decides to not hold the events and/or to hold them as purely digital/virtual formats?
If MEDICA and COMPAMED are cancelled on account of a decision taken by Messe Düsseldorf and, hence, not due to an official ban, the participation fees will be refunded in full.
Should Messe Düsseldorf hold the events in a purely digital/virtual format in the event of such cancellation, you are free to decide whether to go ahead with participation. If you do decide to participate you will pay a participation fee in the amount of the flat-rate media fee of € 485.
