Neurive to showcase tinnitus treatment device ‘Soricle’ at WIS 2025: Targeting European and U.S. markets

Neurive Co., Ltd. (CEO Jae-Jun Song) has announced its participation in the 2025 World IT Show (WIS 2025) at COEX in Seoul from April 24 to 26.

Founded in April 2018, Neurive is a bio-healthcare startup developing electroceuticals and digital therapeutics for degenerative brain diseases. Professor Jae-Jun Song, an otolaryngologist at Korea University Guro Hospital, founded the company, which is headquartered in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do.

Neurive has developed the non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation-based electroceutical device ‘Soricle’ for treating tinnitus, depression, and insomnia. The company has also created a digital therapeutic for tinnitus named SoriCLEAR, which received approval in January 2025 from South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, becoming the fifth digital therapeutic approved in the country.

With this innovation, Neurive was selected as a CES 2023 Innovation Award Honoree and is seeking FDA approval in the United States and CE certification in Europe to support its global expansion. The company is also discussing export schedules following acquiring medical device certification in Brazil. Its wellness device, Healaon Pro, based on vagus nerve stimulation, has already been delivered to the Dementia Relief Center in Gimhae.

The medical device market continues to grow with increasing healthcare demand and aging populations. Tinnitus, in particular, affects around 12–20% of older people in Korea and is classified as a common degenerative neurological condition.

At WIS 2025, Neurive will present ‘Soricle,’ a medical device that treats tinnitus using the vagus nerve and sound stimulation, as well as ‘Healaon’ and ‘Healaon Pro,’ wellness devices designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to help reduce stress and enhance focus and mental well-being.

The devices are designed as earphones that patients can easily wear, and the electrodes are optimized to minimize user error while maximizing vagus nerve stimulation. Neurive emphasized that these devices are especially user-friendly for older adults. The company also explained that once a healthcare provider issues a diagnosis and prescription, patients can receive remote treatment without visiting a clinic. If Soricle gains regulatory approval from the MFDS in 2025, it will offer a new option for tinnitus treatment alongside SoriCLEAR.

Neurive aims to export its products to Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. A company spokesperson noted, “Although vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) devices are still relatively unfamiliar in Korea, various medical and wellness VNS products are already on the market in Europe and the U.S. By first securing references in these more mature markets, we hope to gain the momentum needed to establish a presence in the domestic market.”

World IT Show 2025 (WIS 2025), Korea’s leading ICT trade show, will feature cutting-edge innovations in AI and IoT platforms, 5G connectivity, wireless and wired communication networks, cloud and big data convergence, digital twins, the metaverse, smart living and healthcare, robotics, autonomous and eco-friendly mobility including UAM, blockchain, cybersecurity, and quantum information technology.
