Holzkirchen, Germany – April 30, 2025 – VERMES Medical Equipment, the high-precision division of VERMES Microdispensing GmbH, has unveiled its new drop volume system (DVS) for low-viscosity microdispensing applications. The newly launched DVS 31 and 32 enables precise in-process measurement and quantification of droplet volumes. Featuring a browser-based user interface, the system is intuitive to operate and supports high dispensing frequencies (depending on the medium), allowing for accurate measurement of discrete volumes from a single drop to burst sequences.
The DVS 31 and 32 are part of the DVS 3x product family, which is specifically engineered for exceptionally precise drop volume measurement. These systems are ideal for low and medium-viscosity fluids (up to 12,500 mPas) and are suitable for a wide range of industries, including life sciences (e.g. cell suspensions, protein solutions), electronics, semiconductors, and precision mechanics.
A key performance indicator: Precision. When comparing the measured values with those of a high-precision laboratory scale, the deviation is less than one percent.
Each DVS unit comprises a high-precision Drop Volume Device (DVD) and a dedicated control unit (DVC). Unlike traditional systems that measure flow rate, the DVS enables true in-process droplet volume quantification for very short pulses, offering superior accuracy and reliability for microdispensing applications.
Due to its compact, modular design, the system can be seamlessly integrated into existing production environments with minimal preparatory work. Modifications to the production line can be implemented quickly and easily.
A comprehensive choice of accessories is available, including cartridge holders and DVD holders. The system is also compatible with a variety of VERMES Microdispensing solutions, including valves for low- and mid-viscosity media, with or without Piezo actuators. This versatility enables precise monitoring of critical microdispensing applications across industries such as automation, electronics, mechanical engineering, automotive, life sciences, and consumer electronics.
The system enhances process control, enabling early detection of inconsistencies and minimizing reject rates even before full-scale production, resulting in significant time and cost savings. Additionally, it can be easily adapted to new requirements at any time without substantial investment. Equipped with a browser-based user interface and PLC/RS232 machine-to-machine interface (MMI), the drop volume system enables real-time monitoring and control, ensuring both operational efficiency and precise process adjustments.
