CINTEG AG at COMPAMED 2022: great leads, successful trade fair participation
Interview with Simon Dursch, Division Manager and Sales 3D Printing at CINTEG AG
12.01.2023
What are the expectations of a first-time COMPAMED exhibitor and what is the takeaway from this participation? We asked Simon Dursch, Division Sales Manager 3D Printing at CINTEG for his take on the trade fair.
Simon Dursch
Mr. Dursch, CINTEG AG was a first-time exhibitor at COMPAMED. What were your expectations and hopes for COMPAMED 2022?
Simon Dursch: We had no preconceived expectations. We showcased our 3D printing solutions, which are especially interesting for the medical technology sector. Obviously, we were hoping to meet interesting leads, and we did, which also confirmed a need for 3D printed technical solutions. We come from an industry background and focus on mechanical engineering and 3D printing in the automotive sector. However, we also partner with manufacturers in "medical 3D printing". That's why we wanted to seize the opportunity and become active in this industry sector since we offer interesting solutions for medical equipment manufacturers and universities. We can create highly accurate 3D-printed anatomical models for these entities. The trade fair was a great venue for us to gain a foothold in the medical technology industry.
Were you happy with the response and feedback you received at the trade fair?
Dursch: We had excellent conversations pertaining to quality. That being said, we would have loved to have had even more exchanges overall.
Further articles on this topic from the COMPAMED.de editorial team:
Dursch: We showcased a wide variety of 3D-printed anatomical models that are a near 100 percent match to a real person’s anatomy. We also presented tool making and packaging solutions.
These 3D printed models are very close to the original. Many other anatomical models, bones, joints, organs, etc., can be lifelike recreated using 3D printing. They help, for example, in surgery planning and in training.
The current economic situation is challenging for many businesses. Do the present global issues also impact your company’s business?
Dursch: Definitely. We collaborate with companies that have had issues or are currently struggling due to the high energy prices. It forces them to cut budgets, which leaves less money for investments. We've noticed this trend over the past year, although it doesn’t affect our medical solutions as such. For years, we have also been very active in the dental field as it relates to models and drill templates. Fortunately, this sector always sees growing demand.
Do you know whether you will return to COMPAMED 2023 as an exhibitor?
Dursch: We are contemplating it but haven't made a final decision yet. That said, I am sure we will be back next year. At the end of the day, all you need is one great lead or contact for the trade fair to have paid off for us.
