Ideas become shapes as 3D printing makes MedTech more individual and flexible.
Interview Carolina Curti, MDE Srl
Using 3D printing and additive manufacturing permits you to have custom pieces, so the right piece for the application that you need. And also, you have the pieces quickly.
If you design them in a way that you did not want them to be, then you can reprint them and you have the piece quicker, and in the way that you want.
In prototyping, it is very useful to have the possibility to print each piece as you want and to design with complete freedom. And so you can choose whichever material you need, whichever design that you need, and you don't have to buy from someone else and adapt your medical device to a non-custom piece.

With 3D printing, innovations are created layer for layer and at speed.
Interview Daniel Müller, Samaplast AG
The big advantages of 3D printing are, for example, we are able to print really flexible designs. We are really fast during this prototyping process, and for us, the most important point is the time-to-market process. That means we are really fast during the development process at Samaplast.
