The trend toward greater sustainability in medical technology is not only concerned with the longer service life of devices and components, but also with the development of "green" materials. On the one hand, these are to be obtained from natural, degradable raw materials, and on the other hand, they are to be able to be disposed of later, after their natural service life, in an environmentally neutral manner.
