Our products

Product category: Chambers for oxygen hyperpressure

For more than 40 years Comex has been designing, manufacturing, assembling and commissioning medical systems for hyperbaric and hypobaric oxygen therapy (HBO). A great many hospitals and deep sea diving centres around the world are equipped with Comex systems.

Using its standard range of chambers, Comex also develops mobile emergency chambers and makes available a mobile transportable containerised chamber with or without operators. This consists of autonomous equipment with its own facilities for producing and storing air and therapeutic fluids.

The Comex teams take on the research, the manufacture, the installation and the testing of their hyperbaric systems, from their workshops to the final operational site. Comex also offers a comprehensive maintenance and updating service for existing installations, always designed in an evolutionary manner.

Where guarantees are concerned, Comex relies on a very effective quality management system, certified to ISO 13485, for its medical equipment, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy installations which are marked with CE Dispositif Médical – Classe IIb markings.

About us

Company details

In 1961, after 10 years of travel and major construction projects in every corner of the world, an Arts et Métiers engineer named Henri Germain Delauze founded the Compagnie Maritime d'Expertises (Comex). His dream was to bring together his thirst for technicological challenge and his passion for deep sea diving. By creating this hitherto unheard-of combination, he invented a completely new industry in an environment which at the time was virtually unexplored: the world beneath the oceans.

And so Comex pioneered deep sea diving in the service of the offshore oil and gas industry. Within  a few years Comex has also become a world leader in engineering, technology and underwater operations, both human and robot-assisted. In the company's heyday, thousands of Comex divers were active all over the world. They were the only ones who could work at more than 300 metres down, thanks to the breathing mixtures formulated and perfected in Comex's laboratories and hyperbaric facilities. Its divers smashed a great many records; their achievements have never been equalled. Its record for the deepest test dive – 701 metres – still stands today.

For more than 30 years Comex has also been developing an ambitious policy of  disseminating its technological and industrial knowhow. It has thus created several companies renowned in the sector of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Today Comex has focused again on its original aim, hyperbaric/hypobaric engineering and undersea operations, where its unique expertise is acknowledged the world over.
