UNIVERSAL 320

Its comprehensive range of accessories and outstanding performance make the UNIVERSAL 320 the ideal centrifuge for almost every application.

Carriers and adapters for standard tubes up to 100 ml are available for use at low speeds. In addition, this centrifuge can be used for microtitre plates, tubes with a screw cap, blood collection tubes or cytology accessories.

A maximum RCF of 21,382 can be achieved with microlitre tubes. Vessels with higher volumes (up to 85 ml) can also be centrifuged thanks to the high performance of the centrifuge. Bacteria and yeasts are rapidly sedimented at an RCF of 9,509.

It is possible to choose between eleven swing-out rotors, seven fixed-angle rotors and one haematocrit rotor. The fixed-angle and swing-out rotors with accessories are suitable for virtually all applications in everyday use in industrial, research and clinical laboratories.

ROTOLAVIT

The ROTOLAVIT is a centrifuge for the washing of erythrocytes. It is used in serological testing. The centrifuge can be used for routine washing procedures that are carried out in blood banks and transfusion centres.

The compatibility of the blood from the donor with that of the recipient must be checked before a transfusion procedure. Laboratory personnel therefore carry out cross-matching tests. Antibody testing is also one of the procedures used for blood typing. The antibody tests allow the identification of irregular anti-erythrocyte antibodies that can give rise to problems in transfusions.

Before performing the tests it is first necessary to wash the erythrocytes of the donor. The erythrocytes must be free of any serum residues as these could falsify the result.

The ROTOLAVIT dispenses with the need for time-consuming manual washing steps. The centrifuge carries out the number of washing cycles automatically. For each wash cycle the pre-selected volume of wash solution is filled into each of 12 or 24 blood collection tubes (depending on the rotor), mixed with the blood drops present in the tubes and centrifugation carried out. The supernatant is then automatically decanted.

After the last wash cycle is complete, anti-human globulin serum (for the Coombs test) is added manually. In a final centrifugation step the possible agglutination reaction is accelerated.

ROTINA 380 R Robotic

The ROTINA 380 R Robotic is a cooled centrifuge with PC control and rotor positioning.

It reliably and safely centrifuges microtitre plates and racks for blood collection tubes. Automatic sample processing in plate format is particularly important in research. The ROTINA 380 R Robotic is the perfect complement to the widely used liquid handling robots.

The ROTINA 380 R Robotic is ideally suited for setting up an automated workstation for routine clinical diagnostics. It can carry out special tasks, such as the centrifugation of STAT samples. The routine workflow therefore does not have to be interrupted when emergency samples are delivered. This relieves the load, particularly at peak times when large numbers of samples have to be processed within the shortest possible time.

ROTINA 380 R Robotic centrifuges can be integrated into automated workstations. We can also manufacture special carriers and inserts that are tailored to the robot.

HettCube 200 R

The HettCube 200 R with cooling capability enables optimum growth conditions for cell cultures and has a low environmental impact. This innovative incubator only heats or cools when it is necessary. At an operating temperature of +37 °C it consumes only 0.033 kWh. This not only saves energy, it also reduces operating costs.

The HettCube range combines the advantages of natural and forced convection. The fan of the HettCube 200 R is housed outside of the usable space, so that air flow is reduced. The incubator is heated through radiated heat so that the cells in the incubator are protected against desiccation. The precise temperature control ensures stable temperatures and a uniform distribution of heat.

The novel ventilation system makes the incubator very quiet in use. Personnel are not exposed to high noise levels from the incubator when they are working.

The well-designed airflow system, combined with optimal insulation, means that no inner door is required. Loading and unloading the incubator is therefore easier.

HettCube incubators are available in different capacities – with internal volumes of 150 litres, 310 litres and 520 litres – in each case with and without cooling.

An overview of all models and the extensive range of accessories is provided in our brochure.

About us

Company details

Hettich is known throughout the world as a manufacturer of high-quality centrifuges. Indeed, our centrifuges are used beyond the globe in the International Space Station. Most of our centrifuges, however, are used in medical laboratories, research institutes and in industrial labs. Laboratory personnel value Hettich equipment because of its long service life, good design and ergonomics. Our centrifuges have been proven in use for more than 100 years.

Creative and individual: Hettich centrifuges and laboratory equipment
Hettich is different: We make everything ourselves. We carry out our own research and development, design our equipment, make prototypes, tools, rotors, casings and manufacture the centrifuges and accessories in Tuttlingen. Our personnel constantly develop innovative special solutions for our customers. There are currently almost 20 models in our centrifuge range, with numerous variants, from the small manual centrifuge through to high-performance floor-standing models for large laboratories. Hettich will develop solutions to meet requirements that its standard models do not satisfy. The needs of the customer are always our priority. Our personnel are highly trained and can respond rapidly and individually to every situation. Their innovative, dynamic spirit is reflected in the laboratory equipment we manufacture.

Experience and innovation: A tradition at Hettich
Hettich started to make medical instruments back in 1904. The founder of the company, Andreas Hettich, set the company on the right path through brave decisions and a good understanding of market requirements. The first Hettich centrifuges were developed in 1908 and were marketed with outstanding success. The company then focused on the manufacture and development of user-oriented centrifuges.

In the following years Hettich refined its centrifuges further and continuously expanded the range. The needs of our customers and technical progress continuously stimulated new developments. Günter Eberle, who led the company from 1956 to 2005, continued with this philosophy. Under his visionary leadership, Hettich established a prominent position on the global market. Hettich was granted more than 200 national and international patents during this period.

From 2005 to July 2015, Horst and Klaus-Günter Eberle, the sons of Günter Eberle, managed the company and further consolidated its international position. In August 2015 Klaus-Günter Eberle took over the sole management of the company. Hettich is now one of the leading manufacturers of laboratory centrifuges, incubators and vacuum concentrators in the world.

Focused and committed
Hettich currently has 270 personnel and 13 trainees who work continuously on the further development of Hettich centrifuges and laboratory equipment. Hettich has a field team of 23 who provide service and maintenance for our equipment and expert advice throughout Germany, with a 24-hour response time as a rule. Hettich has subsidiaries in a number of European countries, in the USA and in the Asia-Pacific Region. It has authorised representatives throughout the world. Research and development and production are still carried out in Tuttlingen, on a site of over 17,000 m².

Responsibility and sustainability – Hettich cares for people and the environment
As a manufacturer Hettich cares both for the safety of its personnel and for the protection of the environment. Manufacturing processes are energy-efficient and eight specialist personnel are responsible for the long service life and ease with which Hettich laboratory equipment can be repaired. Waste is sorted and disposed of correctly. The logistics have a low impact on the environment. Hettich uses local suppliers where possible to avoid long transport distances for the components and materials that it buys. Hettich further ships its products to the USA by sea where possible, reducing the quantity sent by air. These measures are evaluated and confirmed at regular intervals by external experts. Hettich was awarded DIN EN ISO 14001 certification in 2009.
