Elitone - Surface electrical stimulation for incontinence

The Solution: Elidah’s wearable device provides SURFACE electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. The discreet and comfortable electrode is placed at the perineal area, and is connected to a battery-powered generator that delivers a small electrical current through the muscles to contract.   Short treatment sessions can be delivered while the wearer continues normal activities.   After continence has been restored, use can be reduced.

The Problem: Available treatment options for incontinence are inadequate, so 2 out of 3 women do nothing to treat their symptoms.
·      There are no medications for stress incontinence (leaking while you cough).
·      Surgery is painful, expensive, and not without risks.
·      Women fail to perform Kegel exercises correctly or often enough, then become frustrated and quit all together.
·      Intravaginal devices used to tone the pelvic floor muscles (e.g. electrical muscle or pessaries) have low adoption do to psychological and physical barriers. They also have higher infection rates.

Elidah brings non-invasive treatment for women with incontinence

Women diagnosed with the condition can suffer urinary leakage during physical exertion or while coughing or sneezing. To date, physicians have recommended solutions ranging from exercises to surgical implants called pelvic meshes, with thousands of lawsuits having been filed against three manufacturers of the devices the past few years after women suffered adverse reactions.

Elidah’s Elitone system can be worn during the day, providing 20 minutes of electrical stimulation delivered through a flexible, non-invasive device worn under clothing.

“This is such a huge market — one out of three women over the age of 30 have this problem,” CEO Gloria Kolb said.
