ARAT

Evaluation is a useful means for documenting the therapy's progress and offering a comprehensible feedback to your patients. But it does not only determine your patient's initial and final state in rehabilitation. When applied regularly in the course of therapy it can help improving its outcomes by assessing progress and deficits and thereby allowing to flexibly compose therapy units.

Our evaluation sets are aiming to support you with this challenge. The Action Research Arm Test (ARAT) can be carried out easily and quickly and its portable case as well as its robust components allow for it to be used in different settings. Since the test simulates activities of everyday life, it is particularly useful in rehabilitation therapy where the focus is on activities of daily living.

The test is complete with all necessary equipment as well as a manual for assessing the test results and a reporting copy. This way, our ARAT is an essential  complement for the Box & Block-Testand Nine Hole Peg Test to form our repertory of evaluation methods.

T-Support system

It allows your patients to safely train walking with a body weight relief system that is designed to be user-friendly, robust and undemanding in service issues.

The T-Support system can be combined with every standard treadmill and offers the safety and mobility that most combined systems lack. Your patients can step on and off the treadmill with the constant feeling of safety thanks to the body weight support. All you need for installing the system is a bearing concrete ceiling. The T-Support system can optionally be combined with mechanical scales so that the actual body weight relief can be measured.

The T-Support system contains a T-beam (steel), a travelling crane, a pulley, a cross beam (stainless steel) and our well-tried harnesses. Every part has been tested regarding its stability and our harnesses are even taken from professional skydiving

Reha-Slide

Day after day the clinical reality proves that there is no greater effect on the success of a therapeutic measure than the influence by the patient´s own motivation. Promoting motivation in clinical rehabilitation means to accompany the patients on their road to independent success.

Especially for semi-paralyzed patients after a stroke it is important to find entry into rehabilitative measures at the earliest possible moment. With the Reha-Slide, we enable patients after stroke to fulfill independent repetitive exercises. And since acting in concert is the most effective guarantee for a therapeutic success, we pursue the approach of encouraging the paretic arm by the leadership of its intact counterpart. This way, we offer the patient an active training workload, which allows him to contribute consciously to his own rehabilitation process.

The Reha-Slide is designed for the stimulation of the three articulated parts of the human arm: the shoulder, the elbow and the wrist are involved in the course of therapy in equal measure. The integrated adjustable base of the device allows the setting of five constant angles, to ensure that the hands of the patient reach shoulder height during the therapy. The built-in resistance is freely adjustable and adapts to the individual abilities of your patients.

During therapy the patient reaches for both handles. Now the Reha-Slide allows the use of three motion axes.
1. Forward and backward for the training of elbow extension and flexion
2. Sideways for the training of shoulder abduction and adduction
3. Spinning for the training of wrist-flexion and extension

Additional to these isolated movements the Reha-Slide enables a combined movement. We believe in the greatest effectiveness through the interaction of intensity and motivation. Scientific findings show greater therapeutic success with the Reha-Slide than with comparable treatments.

1. trunk restraint harness

The especially adapted trunk restraint harness serves to prevent compensatory trunk movements, as they may occur during therapy. It is easily attachable to any normal chair, easy -care and made of durable synthetic material.

2. hand strap
The Reha-Stim supplied hand strap prevents a possible slipping of the paretic hand from the handle. Especially patients in the early phase of therapy will benefit from using the hand strap.

3. arm roll
The arm roll enables an even more comfortable use by supporting the paretic arm.

The Reha-Slide digitally connected:
In combination with the integrated cordless mouse our software provides your patients with different tasks to cope with. The control is carried out through bilateral movement of the handle bar. The movement related to the mouse is adapted by the computer.  The Windows XP© compatible software includes a number of tasks and games. The difficulty is customizable to meet the needs of the patients.Traceable success is recorded by the integrated course documentation, also allowing a longer-term evaluation and assessment of therapeutic success.

Nine Hole Peg Test

The Nine Hole Peg Test offers a simple way of measuring the upper extremity’s function, especially with neurologically impaired patients.

For assessing the functional ability, the patient is asked to pick up nine pegs, put them in the designated holes and take them back into the test’s basin. The performance is timed for both hands and assessed with the help of average performance scores.

Reha-Stim’s version of the Nine Hole Peg Test is made of two solid maple blocks, of which one takes up the pegs made of stainless steel in a basin. The other side is equipped with nine regularly drilled holes. Both sides are connected with hinges that allow opening and closing the test so that it can be moved easily. A magnet keeps the test closed and prevents the pegs from getting lost.

As with all of our assessment devices, we strive to combine our social responsibility with high quality and first class material. Therefore, we co-operate with a work shop for handicapped people in assembling the Nine Hole Peg Test. The use of wooden blocks and pegs made of stainless steel grant longevity and hygienic cleaning.
