Oxford MEStar has recently entered the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) market

Measure Bowel Health is the first and only digital at-home testing kit for the detection of invisible traces of blood in stool. It works using a patented electrochemical technology that detects traces of blood that are invisible to the human eye. It is designed to be fast, discreet, hygienic and simple, with no messy handling of samples and results shown in less than a minute from test completion. The digital bowel health test is on sale at measurebowelhealth.com, at Amazon.co.uk and via the online healthcare specialists IOVUS and SelfDiagnostics.

Oxford MESTAR has R&D and QA labs in Oxford, UK. Mass production of measure bowel health will be undertaken in China via Scottech Medical Co. Ltd, a Chinese JV in Tianjin. A new version of the product is in development for launch in the Chinese market.

Oxford MEStar will develop clinical and home testing products for other cancers and infectious diseases in the future. Oxford MEStar welcomes partnership and collaboration opportunities.

Oxford MEStar to Announce Launch of measurePRO POC Faecal Occult Blood Test at MEDICA

Oxford MEStar will be attending the MEDICA trade fair in Düsseldorf (November 18th-21st 2019) as part of the ABHI UK pavillion in Hall 16 (stand 16K03-3) and announcing the launch of their new product - measurePRO.

Measure Bowel Health, the world’s first digital faecal occult blood (FOB) testing device, provides a fast, hygienic way of detecting signs of bowel cancer early. The device uses patented technology to detect signs of bowel cancer, producing a fast, easy-to-read result for the user.

Oxford MEStar’s CEO Dr Robert Wang explains: “The Measure bowel cancer test is the first in a line of digital testing kits that we are currently developing in support of early stage screening.”

Measure Bowel Health was launched as an at-home, self-testing kit in the UK in April 2018, a new version of the product, aimed at the primary care market, will be announced at MEDICA 2019. MeasurePRO will see new changes to the original design while employing the same sensor technology as Measure, helping to produce results that the company describe as faster and more hygienic when compared to other tests.

MeasurePRO, which will be launched later this year, is a point-of-care device that operates with the same easy-to-use technology as Measure. The professional testing kit, designed for the primary care market, comes with changes to the design, including:

A multi-use reader with a rechargeable battery and data connectivity.
A new cartridge design that allows users to take stool samples at home and seal them into the cartridge for transport. The professional user then initiates the test in their clinic/GP office.
Dr Wang concludes “Supporting early diagnosis in bowel cancer is vital. We look forward to launching our professional testing kit at MEDICA as well as expanding our distribution of the self-test product in other EU countries and beyond.”
