Key Insights on Optimizing MedTech Fluid Management

Exhibitor Web Session: Learn more at this informative session by engineer and expert Matt Larsen, CPC.

Fluid management is often underleveraged as a pathway for medtech product enhancement. Thoroughly understanding key concepts in fluidics design—flow rates, pressure and temperature effects, media compatibility—can help deliver medtech equipment that is more efficient, easier to use and preferred by customers.

Easy to operate MPC Connectors

MPC Series couplings from CPC add ease of use and excellent performance to your most critical fluid handling applications. Choose from a full line of connectors and configurations, including pressure sealing caps and plugs in sizes to fit 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" tubing. MPC couplings offer optional locking sleeves to guard against accidental disconnection. An ergonomic thumb latch makes operation simple, even with gloved hands.
Made of USP Class VI materials,  MPC Series couplings are sterilizable by autoclave, EtO, e-beam or gamma. The reusable connectors meet biocompatibility requirements, yet are economical enough to allow disposability, if preferred. Find excellent flexibility and functionality with the MPC Series.

CPC Connectors Help Simplify Use of Therapy Devices

DTLD Series couplings from CPC are designed to help manage dual fluid lines better. The innovative series can connect two lines either simultaneously or individually via a single, easy-to-use connector. Many dual tube connectors require users to press multiple latches to insert or disconnect tubing. Also, with some connectors, one tube will accidentally disconnect when the other tube is inserted. DTLD connectors solve these problems. In cold therapy, for example, one DTLD coupling can connect both the inflow and outflow tubes.
The DTLD Series is available in two styles—black with a gray latch or white with a blue latch—to complement existing device designs. It accommodates 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch (6.4 mm to 9.5 mm) tubing diameters and mates to the widely used PLC Series couplings for easy integration into existing applications.

Reduce Complexity with CPCs Hybrid Connectors

A big challenge for OEMs involves the number and complexity of connections in a device. A disorderly array of different cables and connectors for liquids, power, gas and signal  can be confusing for the user.
The Hybrid Connector from CPC eliminates the need for multiple connections and simplifies the user interface between remote tools and a device. An easy-to-use twist latch to helps securely connect everything in one simple motion, so technicians can quickly change or replace modular tools, umbilicals or hand pieces that require a combination of power, signal, air or fluids. Featuring dry-break technology, the Hybrid Connector allows designers to confidently specify a single connector for both fluids and electronics. The Hybrid Connector is available as an off-the-shelf, turnkey solution or also can customized  to create a streamlined interface for your specific application.

Small feature-packed coupling provides reliable drip-free connections

The NS1 is the smallest plastic non-spill quick disconnect coupling available on the market today and provides a reliable connect and  disconnect in a user-friendly, compact footprint.
These couplings series include non-spill shutoff valves that ensure drip-free disconnects. The dry-break style design of the NS1 provides ultra-low air inclusion, minimizing contaminants and eliminating the need to purge air bubbles from systems. With its intuitive, ergonomic thumb latch, the NS1 provides users with the “CPC Click” and confidence a reliable connection has been made.
The NS1 Series couplings are constructed from polypropylene and PEEK® materials that ensure reliable strength and chemical compatibility.  Available for precise applications with tubing sizes 1/8-inch and smaller, NS1 Series quick disconnect couplings are ideal for applications with medical devices and In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) including reagent bottles or any market requiring an easy-to-use connector for small tubing.

Intelligent fluid couplings communicate critical device and process data

In medical settings, data-transferring intelligent fluid couplings can play many valuable roles. RFID-enabled IdentiQuik® couplings leverage RFID technology to allow it to not only transfer fluid, but also critical information such as device type, connected media, line connection status, and fluid and product data. Data-transmitting fluid connectors include two parts: the coupling body, which houses a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader, and the coupling insert, which houses an RFID tag. RFID capability can be added to popular coupling lines or be part of custom connector designs that meet the needs of unusual applications.
They’re an ideal solution for ensuring proper flow characteristics, ultimately improving your efficiency, prolonging equipment life and protecting your reputation. Work directly with our engineering support team to see what’s possible with IdentiQuik intelligent fluid connections.
