With more than 20 extrusion lines inside and outside the clean room with an output of 200 kg/h medical tubes with wall thicknesses from 0.2 mm, braidings with a wall thickness of less than 0.1 mm and profiles with wall thicknesses of 0.6 mm - 17 mm are produced in Waldachtal.
With a wide range of materials and colors, the most demanding customer requirements can be realized. Röchling Medical Waldachtal AG is available to its customers right from the start to help them select the materials and production technologies for an optimal result.
As a system supplier Röchling Medical offers you the opportunity for one-stop shopping. Under controlled clean room conditions and using a wide variety of processing technologies we are able to produce, assemble, and package your products with low germ content and high quality. Co-extrusion is becoming more and more important as the sensitivity of drugs in the pharmaceutical industry increases.
The term co-extrusion stands for the merging of plastic melts of the same or different types. This enables a layer structure with different material properties. This process is used in combinations to produce special mechanical, optical or barrier properties.
Röchling Medical offers the combination of two to six layers.
Application:
- Storage of aggressive filling goods (e.g. hazardous substances)
- Improvement of the water vapor barrier (moisture-sensitive materials)
Advantages:
- improved barrier properties compared to monomaterials
- possibility of different coloring of the individual layers (e.g. UV protection or company-specific color aspects)
- po product contact through the barrier layer if it is in the middle
In extrusion thickened plastics are continuously pressed out of a shaping opening under high pressure. By means of co-extrusion, several layers can be built up using different plastic melts and thus special mechanical, optical or functional properties can be achieved. Profiles, medical tubes, braidings and shafts for a wide range of applications in pharmaceutical administration, fluid management and surgery are created under normal or clean room conditions for the medical technology.
