OV6948

As the Guinness World Record holder for "The Smallest Commercially Available Image Sensor” – measuring 0.575 mm x 0.575 mm, OV6948 can be designed into a wide range of medical imaging devices. It has a 1/36-inch optical format and an image array capable of capturing 200 x 200 resolution video at up to 30 fps, while leverages OmniBSI™+ technology to deliver exceptional low-light sensitivity of 1000 mV/lux-sec, and excellent image quality in terms of color fidelity, sharpness, and low noise.

Its low power consumption results in less heat generation which improves patient comfort while permitting longer-duration procedures. The sensor enables easy integration, with a 4-pin interface and analog data output, capable of data transmission of up to 4 meters with minimal signal noise.

OVM6948

The OVM6948 CameraCubeChip™ is a fully packaged, wafer-level camera module measuring 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm, with a z-height of just 1.158 mm. The camera module is derived from an ultra small image sensor, the OV6948, winner of the Guinness World Record for "The Smallest Commercially Available Image Sensor*" This complete module can be integrated into a single-use guide wire, catheter or endoscope with a diameter as small as 2.0 mm. Its image array is capable of capturing 200 x 200 resolution images and video at up to at 30 frames per second (fps).

The OVM6948 was developed using backside illumination, which provides excellent image quality, better low-light performance, low power consumption of a 25 mW and analog output that can transmit over 4m. Other key features of this camera module include a wide 120-degree diagonal field of view, focus range of 3 mm to 30 mm.

The OH02A10 is the world's first medical image sensor to capture full 1080p HD video at 60 frames per second (fps) in a compact 3.8 x 2.9 mm package. Compared with previous-generation sensors, the OH02A10 consumes just 90 mW when recording 1080p HD video at 60 fps, which helps reduce heat generation at the distal tip of the endoscope to improve patient comfort and simplify design. Two OH02A10 image sensors can be synchronized to produce stereo, 3D images for surgical procedures.

The OH02A1S is the world’s first RGB-IR medical image sensor with simultaneous white-light RGB captures and infrared monochrome captures. The sensor enables the designers of chip-on-tip endoscopes for cancer detection to eliminate a 2nd image sensor, thereby overcoming the drawbacks of a two imager design. These improvements allow the development of small outer diameter (OD) endoscopes for cancer detection and accurate diagnosis procedures such as indocyanine green (ICG), and fluorescence, chromo and virtual endoscopy. Near IR (NIR) (700~1000nm) is most commonly used wavelength outside visible spectrum (400~700nm).

The OH02A1S features the 1.4 micron PureCel® pixel architecture with 4x4 binning for the highest image quality. This architecture offers high quantum efficiency for excellent low-light performance, and a high dynamic range for clarity in scenes with widely contrasting bright and dark areas.

Near-Infrared imaging can be used for cancer / pre-cancer diagnosis and treatment. And RGB imaging is needed for White Light Endoscopy (WLE) as visual confirmation to a carcinogenic anomaly found. Traditionally when both functions are needed, OEMs had to pair one IR and one RGB imager pair together to achieve the desired effect.
