Challenging times - who we are:
"Ophthalmic technology for the 21st century" - this is what medways e.V. started with over 20 years ago
Today, medways is one of the established associations in the industry, with an enormous wealth of experience, with a comprehensive and stable network and last but not least: with bite. Because times have not become easier
But from the very beginning:
Who would have thought in 1999 that we - at that time still under the name "Ophthalmoinnovation", would emerge as the winner of the federal competition for the promotion of "Competence Centers for Medical Technology"? And who would have thought that the former project group would develop into an indispensable, important hub for the medical and biotechnology sector, which now has almost 90 members and operates internationally?
In these 20 years we have seen a lot - the developments in the MT and BT industry are rapid, the disciplines are increasingly merging, digitalisation and the growing regulatory requirements are occupying large parts of the industry
Medways has grown steadily with these developments
Every day we plough through the industry, we evaluate, initiate, discuss, control and lecture: for our members.
For the industry. Because we have a claim. The claim to offer the industry the all-embracing services it needs.
