The assay, targeting orf 1ab gene, is an in vitro diagnostic* molecular assay for qualitative detection of severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA in oropharyngeal swab samples from patients suspected of SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID-19) during the acute phase.
